Dealing with Worry Based Fantasies and Daydreams

Daymares
"Any parent knows this feeling well--a child is late arriving home and visions of car crashes and kidnappings appear in vivid glory. We live out the agony in our imagination and make ourselves sick with worry in the process." Daymares are frightning or worry-based daydreams.

These daymares can have both physical and psychological effects on your life. If you have a daydream that makes you sad, you will physically feel sad. Likewise, if you have a frightning daydream you may have a panic attack or start to sweat. However, these daydreams can be beneficial too. If you get fired from your job, your mind automatically goes over the situation in your head to evaluate what went wrong. This can help you prevent the situation from happening again.
Do you think these "daymares" can be beneficial?
