It directly says that our basic schools suppress and discourage creativity in their students, starting at a young age, in order to push in the more "sensible" skills a person will need to get jobs and survive as an adult. In studies, the research has even shown that teachers themselves will prefer a less creative student.
Do you believe that our education system discourages creativity? Is this a positive or negative thing?

I believe that our education system does discourage creativity because there are so many things that needs to be done in a certain way for students to be able to pass the class or even graduate and it doesnt give us a chance to be creative with our work and show our own creativity. This could be a positive or a negative thing but i believe its negative.
I definitely agree that our schooling system discourages creativity. The way teachers place regulations on how they want things done limits the choices of a student. Even when teachers say projects are a chance for a student to be creative they place so many limitations on them that it is not possible to be completely creative. I believe that this is a negitive thing about our schooling system.

I completley agree that our schooling system neglects creativity. I say this because the school wants things to be done a certain way. Kids are the most creative and they should put their imagination to the test as often as possible. During class, you will rarley get a teacher who ask the kids how they want to learn, rather than what the teacher wants to do.

I also do believe that our education system discourages creativity because teachers give a certain format of what they want and you can't really do much with it or else you will get a bad grade. Certain teachers tell you to be creative like in English classes however they still tell you what they are looking for and what they want for you to get a good grade, limiting our creativity. Normally the teachers favorite student is not the one whom is the most creative but the one that has the most "book" intellect which I think is negative due to the fact it takes the uniqueness away from each individual.
