Family Therapy for the Holiday

This artical was about how family members and friends stress out when it is time for the holiday's.

Most people stress because they never know what gift they should buy the next family member or friend. Others stess about the money that can buy gifts for family and friends, not everybody has the time or the money to get people what they want and make sure that they are satified.

According to Jacqueline Hudak, familes should come up with a stategic plan for change. I think coming up with a plan so that things are less stressful for everyone is a great idea.

My question to you is...

Do you get stressed out when holiday's come around and why?

I don't think I personally get stressed, because I'm not the one who has to go out and get presents for everyone, and buy all the materials you need. So, I don't really get stressed durning the holidays.

I'm only stressed on Christmas Eve, because it's the only time of year I actually bake something, and it has to be perfect because a lot of people eat my dessert.

I do not get stressed out during the holidays because i love Christmas. It is my favorite time of year and nothing can seem more perfect. And since I am still young, I do not have to worry about organizing dinners and about gift shopping for all family members because my mom does it. But it seems to me that she defiantly gets stressed out during the holidays, so i try to help out.

I think I only get stressed out around the holidays if I don't do my shopping eariler. This year, for example, I have most of my presents for everyone, and just need a couple more. Other years I was rushing to get all my gifts for the holidays, and I didn't know what to get anyone. Holidays should be about spending time with people you love, but people want to have others be happy with getting them good gifts.

I don't really get stressed out around the holidays because it's not worth it. I always try to get things done ahead of time to be sure that I don't get behind and begin stressing. I also try not to let little things that go on around this time bother me.

I don't usually get stressed out because the holidays are supposed to be one of the most relaxing times of year that you spend with your family, and getting the right gifts comes second.

I don't get stressed out about much. Never cared about getting gifts. Always got my gifts on time. What's there to be stressed about? Manage your time better if you're strapped for gift shopping.

I love Christmas time, therefore I don't really get stressed. I can see where others may become stressed like mothers and fathers because they are out shopping for their kids for Christmas. As for myself, I need to buy my family things, but I have a brother who picks out stuff for my step dad and dad so it's easier for me, I just give him money.

No, not really, I dont care much about the holidays. I like seeing my family and hanging out with my cousins and stuff. So i dont usually get stressed out. I do however get pissed off when certain family members i dont want to see show up and start drama with everyone

I don't get that stressed out because I don't have to look for presents anymore I go out with my parents or my brother and get my presents myself. My family isn't really close anymore so I only get to see few. I only get a little anxious waiting for the presents and to see my sister that I only see a couple times a year.

Being around family is just as good.

I do get extremely stressed during the holidays. That's only because lately I've taken on the responisibilty of buying a bunch of presents for my family. I also cook a lot for Christmas and Christmas Eve. When I was younger and had no responsibilities Christmas was great but now I just think it's stressful. I just love being with my family, though that's what gets me through Christmas time.
