Is money the main reason we go to work?

This article talked about how most people go to work just for the money. Money is an internal motivation for most to work but when we see other people working hard, then we strive to do the same. Money forces people to work and most people dont like being forced.

For example, in the article, it talked about how group of kids were giving pens to play with and most of them enjoyed it but when some of them were getting paid to play with them, they lost their interest. This is because that play turned into a form of work that they had to do. No one is really excited about going to work and that's why people need to be paid to do the work

Money finds a way to control the workers. Some findings do show that some employees do like their job. Testing shows that when people win lottery, some have intentions right away that quitting their job is the first thing but some others choose to keep their jobs. The same thing goes with retirement. Some people like to enjoy their hobbies and never think about working again and others just to want to get out of the house so they decide to stay on the job. Being good at something also motivates the person into working. If you're good at the job then feeling of superior or knowing everything makes a person feel better.

Do you think money is the only reason people go to work?

I think for most people in office jobs, it's all about the green stuff. For people like teachers and scientists, or even preachers, it's more about enjoying the job. So basically it all depends on what job you have and whether or not you like the job. For example, I'd hate to be a preacher, but someone else might like it. Maybe there's someone who likes slowly rotting in a cubicle, but I highly doubt it.

Yes, I believe the main reason people go to work is to earn money. Money is the object which drives our society. People can only do things if they have money. Money is the way of life in a economic society where businesses are soley based off of profits. There are some people that go to work because they enjoy it, and those are the lucky ones who are making money by doing something they like.

Yes, I do believe that money is the main reason why people go to work. If a person had money, then they wouldn't need a job to provide for themselves. Some people can also enjoy their job, but only go because of the money. If you are enjoying what you're doing, and get paid for it, then that makes it easier to stand.

Yes I do think that the reason people work is for money. We are going through a rough time right now with money. People are trying to get any amount of moneythat they can, because we survive on it. We need money for our cars, food to eat and even Christmas. It's right around the corner, and not only my family but everyones families are trying to get as much money as they need, so that they are able to get family members presents. Now adays everyone is trying to save up their money, because they never know what will happen. Money is escential for survival.

I think that money is the number one reason we go to work, but I don't believe that it's the only reason we go to work. I think that unconsciously it's because society expects us to. We were all raised knowing that work was a main aspect of life, so we all pursue it. Many of us do it because we feel like society may look down on us if we didn't work, and that's because jobs make the world run.

I belive for the most part we go to work for the money but there are some people on the other hand that like helping people out either in the communtiy, class room, etc. SO i would say depending on the person would show if he/she goes to work only for the money or to benifit and help others as well. But i go to work for the money becasue what i am doing know is not the job that i want to have for the rest of my life!

I do not beleieve that everyone only goes to their job to make money. Money is a plus for working but many people love their job and would do it even if they were not getting paid. Some people do love money enough to do something that they hate but once they find a career that they love the money will only be a plus side to it. Right now, i do only go to work for the money but that is because what i am doing now i do not want to be doing for the rest of my life.

ABSOLUTELY !!! People deffinitely go to work only for the money. Me, being only 17, i only go to work to get paid every week. Thats all thats on my mind when I go there. Most people hate their jobs, but they have to do what they have to do. Being responsible is what you need to do in this econmony. Im pretty sure people rather be at home with their familes, but with the economy being so low right now, people just have to work. Its sad, but its the truth.

I think that money is the main reason people go to work but not the only one. I think this is more true of younger people because we can only do certain jobs. But I think there are people who go to work because they love what they do. But overall i think most people work for money.

I personally believe that money is not the only reason people go to work. I believe that some, not the majority, but some people do in fact go to work because they like what they do. I think this because there are some people out there that do love their job and wouldn't quit even if they didn't need the pay.
