I think that treatment is necessary in overcoming an addition in certain conditions. I think that the more serious the addiction, whether it be the addiction itself or the time duration, the more necessary treatment is.

The more that an addict immerses his or herself into the addiction, the less will he or she will have to pull himself out. As a result of that, outside help may be necessary.

In addition, the more serious the addiction, the more serious the consequences could be if one tries to quit. As a result of that, I believe at that stage, one should ask for professional treatment, people who are certified to help the addict make the change. To suddenly quit an addiction, can be dangerous... the body may experience shock to the withdrawal of the addiction.

Finally, overcoming an addiction is all about will power. You have to want it to actually succeed. Perhaps that is why the addicts conversing with therapists never get better--secretly, they don't really want to. And perhaps will power is enough to over come treatment. Who can predict something like that?

I believe that treatment for addiction depends on how bad the addiction is. If a person cannot beat the addiction on their own or with the help of those who care about them then I think seeking treatment would be the best alternative to help solve their addiction. However, there are many people who defeat their addictions on their own and chose not to use treatment. So I beleive that treatment is only necessary for those who cannot defeat their addictions on their own.

I do not believe treatment is necessary to overcome an addiction, except in extremely bad situations such as drug addiction or alcoholism. In those cases, your body is controlled by that item and it can be very painful and uncomfortable to stop, so i would recommend treatment. If it is a smaller addiction, I believe you can easily overcome it without treatment. An addiction is all in your mind...when you tell your body to stop doing something and you cut it off completely, after a while it isn't an addiction anymore. Yes, it will probably be difficult to stop an addiction, but it is always possible..it just depends on how badly you want to stop.

I believe that treatment is necessary in overcoming certain kinds of addiction. For example, I think that many people can stop smoking cigarettes on their own. Even though it is difficult to stop, it can be done without treatment. On the other hand, in extreme cases like drug addiction, I believe that treatment is necessary. In many cases, when someone stops taking drugs immediately, symptoms of withdrawal can happen which needs medical attention. Many drugs are very addicting and people need to be in treatment.

I believe that addicts will not overcome an addiction unless they want to. if they dont do it for themselves but to make someone else happy they will never overcome the addiction. but i believe that therapy is for addicts that are hardcore addicts that need to live off of their addiction. i believe this because they would not be able to last withdrawal because their body is just so dependent on that drug. in a case where the addiction isnt as bad then i believe the only way they can overcome is by doing it by themselves because doctors may make it worse by giving them wrong meds or treating their case wrong.

I think that addiction is something a person could get over without treatment, I think that it will taker a longer time. I believe that if a person who has an addiction has people by their side that will support them, they might overcome their addiction. I think if only a person wants help, they will have a chance of succeeding. It depends on the person whether or not treatment might be better.

I believe that you do need treatment to overcome an addiction. Weather the addiction be as severe as drugs or alcohol, or something that you think you can handle on your own such as gambling. No matter what the addiction is, it will be almost impossible to stop on your own. Something such as drugs and alcohol can be hurtful to ones self when trying to stop on their own. But even something like gambling, a person who is addicted to gambling does it because it makes them feel good when they win. So if they stop on their own, it is still going to hurt them even though it may not be the physical pain that a drug addict or alcoholic goes through.

I feel that treatment is necessary when trying to overcome an addiction. An addiction id very difficult for people to overcome on their own. That is why it is called an addiction. They need to have some kind of treatment whether it is a prescribed treatment, or even just talking to someone can be a form of treatment. People who have addictions may need to talk to someone about what and how their feeling, knowing they want to stop their addiction but also knowing that it is difficult. So thats why talking can help them. Either way, treatment is necessary for most.

I think that if someone doesnt want to stop their addiction but they need to then yes it is necessary. But if they have to will power and they want to stop then they will be able to do it by themselves. they might need treatment to get started but as long as their mind is set to it then they dont need treatment.
